The Muse is a beautiful recently completed modern style property now operating as a small and select boutique hotel offering guests the affordable option of taking individual rooms or booking the entire villa . Designed by the award winning British Architect Gary Fell of Gfab Architects based in Bali, and built under the close supervision of the British owner, they ensured that at every stage of design and construction every consideration has been given to guest needs, comfort and their enjoyment of the property using the best materials and construction methods.

The property has a large private car park and car and motorbike hire is available at competitive rates. There is a 24 hour staff presence supported by ample security technology . There is a large 16m x 4m swimming pool , BBQ area and large lounge boasting a surround sound home theatre with a large selection of TV channels and DVD .

Located in the riverside village of Pandak Gede the villa is ten minutes from the Tanah Lot temple and adjacent 18 hole Nirwana Bali Golf Course . The villa is set in spacious and secure grounds with a large paved car park and a six seater people carrier with driver is available for the use of guests .

As you step inside the villa you will immediately appreciate the traditional Balinese touches of indoor outdoor living with a large open plan lounge and dining area opening to a huge wooden deck that borders the large swimming pool . Beyond that is a lush tropical garden with wall carvings depicting some of the most important ceremonies and dances in Bali life.

In the lounge is a wall mounted 60 inch TV and powerful surround sound system for enjoying a true cinema experience . Cable tv offers a large selection of channels and there is also DVD and access to the in- house media network containing thousands of movies , TV programmes and music , all free of charge .

Next to the lounge is the Bar . Normally stocked with probably the largest selection of single malt whiskies in Bali , when guests are in residence you can request the spirits , wines , beers and soft drinks of your choice from an extensive list and our staff will ensure that these are on hand . With a fridge and wine cooler the bar provides a convenient and fun addition to your villa experience .

There is a spacious open plan kitchen with all the usual equipment including electric BBQ . Our in-house chef is able to serve a wide selection of dishes at all mealtimes from an extensive menu of Balinese and International cuisine.

Our back of house facilities mean we can take care of all your personal laundry needs during your stay .

Next to the 16m infinity pool is our outdoor charcoal BBQ area housing a powerful built in sound system with speakers in three separate zones allowing you to channel your favourite phone or tablet tunes to almost anywhere on the ground floor . Alongside is our Sala - an outdoor shaded dining area ideal for entertaining day or night .

About us

The Muse Tanah Lot is designed and staffed as a super retreat if you just want to relax and enjoy your holiday experience there . And you do not need to leave to enjoy a good massage or beauty therapies which our staff can organize for you . But if you want to get out and about there are many places to visit including Ubud with its excellent restaurants , the famous Tanah Lot temple , a top golf course , the restaurant and bars of Echo Beach and Canggu and of course endless sandy beaches . Our Villa Manager can offer you many tours and sightseeing trips including a few that are not generally available .

Rates and Availability

All bedrooms have AC , TV , DVD , access to the media network and a dedicated wi-fi router . Each has a large connecting bathroom with both indoor and outdoor showers and bath . All have a terrace area with table and chairs.

Policy for fooding:
There is a fully equipped kitchen for the use of staff when preparing breakfast and meals from the Villa menu . Guests may also supply their own groceries which staff can prepare and cook for a set fee of Rp 300,000 per meal for up to 8 people . Self catering is not permitted.

We have four large double bedrooms . Each has considerable drawer and wardrobe space . Two of the bedrooms are at ground floor level . One offers a private access directly into the swimming pool and the other has a private tropical garden with outdoor shower and bath .

A luxurious and spacious double bedroom with top of the range King Size bed and King Coil mattress. There is a huge amount of wardrobe and drawer space. Serviced by a powerful A/C and ceiling fan enables flexible temperature and environment control. Attached to the bedroom is a large bathroom with bath, twin basins, WC, indoor shower and an adjacent outdoor shower leading to the private deck and steps down into the large communal swimming pool . A hairdryer is provided and complimentary toiletries. The room has a dedicated wifi router linked to a powerful broadband connection.

Outside is a terrace with table and chairs, ideal for taking meals. A continental breakfast for each guest is included in the room rate. The room is cleaned daily, bed made up and evening turndown with fresh water placed in the room.

"This opulent villa is hidden away majestically in the atmospheric town of Tanah Lot and boasts a striking emerald green swimming pool surrounded by elegant wooden sun loungers and exotic plants. The bedrooms are shamelessly plush and feature deep bathtubs and outdoor showers so you can wash away the day under a thousand shimmering stars. A talented chef and team of friendly staff make bespoke meals to please even the fussiest of palates – we consisted of a vegan, a gluten ‘intolerant’ dairy hater and an anti sugar occasional health freak (which quite possibly may have been me). The poolside massages we were treated to can only be described as otherworldly and our friendly driver was always on call to take us to various places of interest – make sure you check out the waterfall caves by the Tanah Lot Temple and the spooky ‘ghost hotel’ – mwah ha ha…."

Having stayed at the Muse Villa Seminyak in the past, we didn't think we would be able to top it, but the Muse Tanah Lot gives it a run for its money. Completely peaceful and hidden, the villa is massive and luxurious, with an enormous pool in the most beautiful gardens. It's a brilliant place to spend a long weekend, or a fortnight. The food was incredible, and the chef's nasi goreng is an authentic treat we enjoyed pretty much daily. We can't wait to come back!"

"We've been to Bali many times with family and friends. We've stayed in various parts of the island but this time, chose to be away from the crowds but not too remote to take in some nightlife if we wanted to. We never wanted to !
The Muse – Tanah Lot is stunning. It's positioned behind a traditional village and convenient for Tanah Lot Temple. With the inclusion of a choice of drivers amongst the staff, we also took in some attractions and activities in the Ubud area. I love the process of Batik and our driver took a couple of us to Batik workshop where we stayed all day, ate lunch in between being guided through the entire process of Batik making. Starting with our own drawings, to waxing the fabric, painting and then the chemical process at the end. The staff had a few less known activities up their sleeves like this, which was refreshing from the standard touristy ones you see everywhere. If you enjoy playing golf, it's only a few minutes from the villa.
When we arrived we were greeted by friendly, uniformed staff who couldn't have made us more welcome. They were immediately attentive to the young grandchildren and certainly made it easier for us to relax during our stay as they naturally cared for and played with them. The staff are gentle, caring and did their jobs without disturbing us. Yet if we needed something, they would appear!
The bedrooms are huge with big beds and the most comfortable mattress I've slept on in a while. Everything is clean and looks new. The ensuites are bigger than a lot of bedrooms we've stayed in, with fantastic freestanding baths and separate showers. There's even an outdoor bathing area off one of the rooms which has you feeling you are bathing in the jungle!
We couldn't have wished for anything more. From professional spa treatments under the sala to meals so good that we didn't want to go out to restaurants. ( Although we did have lunch in a rice field warung Hijau which was amazing ). This villa is a super find and truly has a feel of paradise as you sit by the mega sized pool against a backdrop of glorious garden surrounded by mango trees. This was an experience, not just a holiday and we couldn't recommend it enough.
Most people return from holiday feeling they need a holiday. We all came back to real life rested and wanting more as soon as possible."
